Obituary of Bessie Durena Splane
It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of Bessie Durena Splane which occurred on April 26, 2015 at the Fundy Nursing Home. Born in 1932 she was the daughter of the late Roy and Ethel (Simpson) MacVicar. Bessie will be dearly missed by daughter Catherine (Daryl Sleigh) Splane of Dartmouth, NS; sons John M. (Sylvia) Splane of Saint John, NB, Bruce (Margot) Splane of Timmins, ON, David (Mj Patterson) of Halifax, NS; brother Bruce MacVicar of Middleton, NS; Grandchildren Max Splane, James Splane, Justine Splane, Sam Sleigh, Leah Sleigh; as well as several nieces and nephews (appreciated all the care they gave). Besides her parents she was predeceased by loving husband John Alfred Splane, sister Beatrice and brother James. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitations will be held on Tuesday April 28, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. & 7:00-9:00 p.m. A funeral service will take place from Castle Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday April 29, 2015 at 3:30p.m. Interment will follow at Lorneville Cemetery. Donations in Bessie’s memory can be made to Alzheimer’s Society, Canadian Cancer Society or to the charity of one’s choice
