Obituary of Grace Craft
Grace Elizabeth Craft – It is with deep sorrow the family announces the death of Grace Elizabeth Craft which occurred on Saturday October 8, 2016 at the Kennebec Manor. Grace was born on May 16, 1930 and was the daughter of Mary and Leonard Craft. Grace started her career in radio at CFBC, while she was still a student at Saint John High School. She was also a radio and television personality with CHSJ and a committed volunteer during the Empty Stocking Fund for 40 years. With CHSJ, Grace co-hosted a half-hour show during the ANE Exhibition Week with Donald Armstrong. Other than radio and TV, Grace was a member of the Golden Girls of Fairville, NB, an avid racing fan at Exhibition Park, and did not miss Old Home Week and the Gold Cup & Saucer Race in PEI every year. She is survived by her special friend Barb Archer of Hampton, NB, and her special cousins; Jeffery Ougler of Sault Ste. Marie, ON, Bill and Helen Craft of Saint John, NB, Bud Craft of Fredericton, NB, and Carol Snow of Saint John, NB. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Tuesday October 11, 2016 from 12:30pm – 1:30pm. A Memorial Service will be held from Castle Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday October 11, 2016 at 1:30pm following visitation. Interment will take place in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Donations in Grace’s memory can be made to the Saint John SPCA Animal Rescue or the charity of one’s choice. www.castlefh.com
