Dear Alan, Lisa and Austin, Thank you for having your sweet Mom's obituary printed in the Ottawa Citizen. The last time I saw her was about 30 years ago on a bus near Billings Bridge shopping centre. I made myself known to her and we had a lovely 15 minute chat. I remember her ready smile and little laugh.i am 70 years old and was a child when I met your Mom. I remember your Dad as being a favoured family friend who at one time had boarded at my grandparents'home at 97 Sweetland in Ottawa. My grandparents were Georges and Florina Poulin. They had 13 kids, my Mom, Madeleine was the oldest. There are only 3 left as well as two spouses: Fern and and his wife Louise who live in BC, Martha who lives in Port St. Lucie Florida, and the youngest, Claude and his wife Jan who live in New Brunswick. The spouses are Yvonne Poulin who was the wife of Gilles (deceased) and Larry Andrews who was husband of Hugette (deceased). I scanned your Mom's notice and sent it via email to my Aunts and Uncles as well as those cousins who likely knew Bruce and Georgie. So far I have heard from Uncle Fern and Aunt Yvonne. Fern wrote that he remembered Bruce and Georgie with great fondness and that they had been very kind to his parents. (I have a picture somewhere of your parents and my grandparents standing I beside a car outside of a motel in Florida). I learned from a cousin that Aunt Yvonne, who lives in Deep River, hopes to attend the memorial in the Spring. I will do my best to attend as well. My heart goes out to you. Georgie was a very special lady. Sandy Blank
