Obituary of James Arthur Gibbons

Gibbons, James Arthur James Arthur Gibbons passed away quietly at Saint John Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 22, 2012. Born in Saint John on April 17, 1931, Art was the only child of the late Florence (Miller) and James Arthur Gibbons. He is survived by his devoted family: wife, Ruth (Adams); daughter, Diane Simpson and grandsons, Alex and Adam Simpson, all of Halifax, NS. He was predeceased by his much loved son-in-law, Kenneth in 2011. Art spent his working career with Canada Customs and Excise, retiring in 1991 after 38 years of service. Art, known as “Bop” to close family and friends enjoyed a good political discussion and a pint of Alpine on a hot day, but most of all he was in his element when spending time with his grandsons – “The Boys”. At Bob’s request there will be no visitation and cremation has taken place. A graveside service will take place at a later date.
