Obituary of Maureen Hebert
The unexpected death of Maureen occurred on April 12, 2011 in Saint John. She was born in Saint John on July 21, 1943. She was the wife of Peter Hebert and the daughter of the late Edmund and Melita (Keleher) Murphy. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Peter; siblings, Gary (Norma), Celina Murphy (Gilles Arseneault), Ann (Kevin) Whalen, Kevin (Roselle); in laws, Douglas (Geraldine), Paul (Jeanette), Bonnie (Nick), Tony (Cathy), Mary Lou; and special friend Rossie. Maureen will be missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Maureen was also predeceased by her sons Jason and Kenneth; and brother in law Michael. Her childhood ambition was to become a nurse. She graduated from the Saint John General Hospital School of Nursing in 1964 and spent over 25 years of her nursing career with Centracare. She enjoyed many celebrations with her friends and close knit family. As befitting her eldest child position, she became affectionately known by the self bestowed title "Queen Maureen". She traveled the world with her best friend and loving partner Peter. The two enjoyed being annual snow birds and loved to host their friends and family in their Florida home. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Friday, April 15, 2011 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of the Assumption. The interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. Following the interment a reception will be held at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. In lieu of flowers, donations in Maureen's memory may be made to the charity of one's choice.
