Obituary of Lillian Perry
Mrs. Lillian Belle (Morris) Perry peacefully passed away surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren on January 9, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born in Amherst, Nova Scotia on January 1, 1921. Lillian was predeceased by her husband George Edward Perry, grandson Matthew Perry, sisters Dorothy and Gwen, and brother Stanley. Lillian was a kind and loving mother who cherished her family. She is survived by her children, George Victor Lewis Perry (Norma), Pauline Ann Randell (Gerry), Linda Susan Sweet (David), Bruce Stanley Perry (Stephanie) and Winnifred Gail Richardson (Doug). Lillian’s grandchildren were the light of her life: Andrew (Terri) Perry, Timothy (Chrystal) Perry; Scott (Alana) Randell, Brian (Sophie) Randell, and Jill (Stefan) Poziomka, Mark (Tamlee) Sweet, Jason (Rachel) Sweet; Eli (Leeanne) Richardson, and Justin Richardson. Her great-grandchildren are Parker, Jarrett, Chad, Jessica, Nicholas, Hunter, Izabella, Juliette, Maya, Tayler, Jordyn, and Destiny, as well as her special niece Lillian Jane LaChance. Lillian was a woman whose faith carried her through life and a lifelong member of Hillcrest Baptist Church where she belonged to the Harmony Club. She bowled, loved to travel, and took great joy in cooking. Mom loved to play cards and could rise to a game of bridge at any given moment for all her life; she especially loved the Champlain Street bridge club. Lillian will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Lillian worked for many years at General Hospital and Saint John Regional Hospital coordinating volunteers. When she retired she spent many more years volunteering at the hospital. She was a lifetime member of the Hospital Auxiliary. The family would like to give heartfelt thanks to Dr. Mark Foster for his many years of excellent care; and the staff of Sea Street Manor; as well as the kind and compassionate care at the SJRH of Dr. England, the ED staff and the staff on 5CN, especially nurses Erica and Rob along with many others. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3. Visitation will take place on Saturday, January 11, 2014 from 7-9pm and Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2pm at the Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. A reception will follow the service at the Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Donations to the Cancer Society, SJRH Foundation or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com
