Obituary of Lloyd "Ned" Parsons
Parsons, Lloyd “Ned” Edward Passed away on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on July 29, 1941 in Saint John, NB. He was the son of the late Lloyd and May (Daley) Parsons. Loving husband of Ruth (Hebert) Parsons. Ned worked for many years for the City of Saint John and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69. He loved sports especially hockey, being a big fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins and played for the St. Pete’s Baseball Team (1963) which was inducted into the Saint John Sports Hall of Fame. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Ruth, sons, Jim (Lorraine), Tom (Janice) and Stephen (Michelle); brothers, Robert (Reba), John (Cathy), Terry (Shirley) and Ray (Pam); sisters, Doreen (George) Naves and Nancy (Ken) Kervin; grandsons, Josh and Ricky; granddaughters, Vanessa, Robyn, Courtney and Caitlin; great granddaughter, Natalia and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Monday, March 19, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., with a Legion Service at 7:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from St. Rose of Lima Church. Donations, in memory of Ned, may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Children’s Wish Foundation.
