Marie, Midge, Charlotte ~~~ I have happy memories of your mother from my childhood growing up in South Musquash. Many delightful hours were passed in the garden of your family home playing dolls. The occasional family meal was also shared with delicious homemade bread and mollasses. I remember all too well your father Albert sitting by the kitchen stove and your mother tending to the wood. It is with the fondest of memories and heartfelt thanks that she was one of my aunts that I send my condolences to you at this time. Katherine Lorna McCluskey and Family

Midge, Marie & Charlotte, My deepest condolences, it is hard to believe that the last surviving member of the immediate McCluskey family has passed. Hold on tight to the memories and all the stories Aunt Mable has told us over the years. She was a very strong woman, and will be deeply missed by her family. I work for Fisheries and Oceans Canada and am Section Head for the Marine Protected Areas program. I have known of Mabel for more than a decade, and had the priviledge of meeting her in the mid-2000s. She went through great efforts to get Musquash designated as a Marine Protected Area, and I'm proud to uphold her legacy as caretaker of Musquash through the ongoing management and monitoring of the MPA. Musquash is a special place, and because of the wonderful community spirit and effort of Mabel and others, Musquash is protected and can be enjoyed by all. I hope her family is able to look at the pristine marsh and estuary, and be reminded of her. She was a special lady - feisty, friendly, and full of knowledge of the history of the area. I could have listened to her tell Musquash stories forever. I will miss her, and thank her and her family for being such dedicated stewards.
