Obituary of Kenneth Whipple
Mr. Kenneth Whipple passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on September 15th, 2013. Born to the late J. Boyd Whipple and Ethel Watters, on January 5th 1926 in Saint John. He was the loving husband of the late, Eleanor Ann (Irving) Whipple. Kenneth was a master carpenter and welder for many years by trade. Once retired, he became a Gentleman Country Farmer. He loved to sail, so much in fact that he built his own boats and sailed them. Hunting and Fishing were a couple other hobbies Kenneth loved. He was a member of the Saint John Power Boat Club; founding member of the Martinon Yacht Club, Kenneth also was a member of the Thistle and Carleton Curling Clubs, a proud member of the Directors staff of the Luxor Shriners as well as the Lancaster Baptist Church. Kenneth is survived by daughters Beverlie (Bev) (Roger) Gaudet, and Judith (Judy) Whipple both of Saint John. Chosen Son Dennis (Francine) McLeod of Saint John. Brother Murray Whipple of Saint John; Grandchildren Brad Gaudet of Ottawa and Karen Gaudet of Saint John, Great Grandchildren Jessica, Malachi and Madison, and Several Nieces and Nephews. Kenneth was predeceased by his Loving wife Eleanor Ann (Irving) Whipple, Sons Robert “Bobby” and John David Whipple, and his Sister Marjorie Jenner. In keeping with Mr. Whipple’s wishes cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Wednesday 2-4 and 6-8 at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday September 19th, at 11am at Fallsview Chapel, Reception to follow service at Fallsview Reception Center. Private Family Burial will take place at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery Saint John, NB at a later time. Donations to the UNB Judy Whipple Family Bursary, Luxor Shriners Transportation Fund, or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
