Obituary of Sterling Howard
The death of Sterling Grant Howard, husband of Doris (Pelton) Howard, occurred on November 26, 2011 at his residence. Born in Saint John on March 10, 1948, he was the son of the late Allen Leslie and Mabel Edith (Patterson) Howard. He is also survived by his son Nathan, daughter Christina (David) Dineen with grandson Joey; brother Leslie (Mae) Howard. Sterling will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. He was a life member of Lancaster Baptist Church, involved in Scouting, the Ambassadors Men’s Choir, and the Shuffleboard Group. He was a member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 69. He was affectionately known as “Gaga” by his grandson, and he will be missed by many. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Monday, November 28, 2011 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. with a Legion Tribute Service at 7 pm. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, Rev Wayne Murphy officiating. The reception will follow at Lancaster Baptist Church. Cremation and family interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sterling’s name may be made to The Heart and Stroke Foundation, the N.B. Lung Association, Lancaster Baptist Church, or the Charity of one’s choice.
