Obituary of Eileen Hamm

Hamm, Eileen Constance (Oram) Passed away on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was the daughter of the late George and Lily (Lee) Oram. Loving wife of the late F. Henry Hamm. Eileen devoted time to her community throughout her life, she was a member of the Grand Bay Women’s Institute for over 60 years and leader of the Girl Guides of Canada. She received the Medal of Merit for NB Community Leadership in 2003. She will be sadly missed by her daughters, Merry Atwood (Gary Myers), of Morden, NS and Melody Hamm (Holly Fawcett), of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; brothers, George Oram, of Trenton, Ontario and Cyril (Marion) Oram, of Saint John, NB; three grandchildren, Sean (Wendy) Atwood, Jeremy (Amanda) Hamm and Kate Fawcett, all of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; four step-grandchildren, including, Grant (Cathy) Fawcett and Krista Mawhinney (Stefan), of Musquash, NB; one great granddaughter, Lily Hamm, of Grand Bay-Westfield, NB; twelve step great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her grandson, Jordan Hamm; great grandson, Alex Henry Hamm; two half brothers, Horace and Oswald Andrews and brother, Joseph James Oram, who was killed overseas in 1945. Arrangements have been entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. from Castle Funeral Home. A family interment will take place at the Loyalist Cemetery, at a later date. A reception will be held at the Fallsview Family Reception Center, following the service. Donations, in memory of Eileen, may be made to the Girl Guides, Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Saint John Regional Hospital Foundation (5C South).
