Obituary of Michael William O'Donnell

It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of Michael William O’Donnell which occurred on Saturday April 2, 2016 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born April 16, 1938 he was the son of the late William and Margaret (Keene) O’Donnell. Michael was an easy going type of person with a happy go lucky attitude. He was a very positive person and was easy to get along with. He loved to walk around the city and loved greeting each cruise ship that came to port. Michael will be sadly missed by brothers Charles O’Donnell of Saint john, NB, Albert O’Donnell of Alberta; sisters Winnifred (Victor) Hovey of Ontario, Jane (John) Porter of British Columbia; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents Michael was predeceased by brothers Patrick, Art and Gerry; sisters Josephine and Mary. The family would like to thank Mike Monahan and the staff of Cozy Manor for their excellent care to Michael.Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Tuesday April 5, 2016 from 2:00 -4:00 pm & 6:00 – 8:00 pm. A Memorial Service will take place on Wednesday April 6, 2016 at 10:00am from Castle Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in Michael’s memory can be made to Romero House or the charity of one’s choice.
