Obituary of Alfred O'Brien
Alfred Charles O'Brien passed away peacefully at Bobby’s Hospice on Sunday, June 7th, 2015. Born in Saint John on October 30th, 1955, he was the son of the late John and Jean (Fitzgerald) O’Brien. Al grew up in Lancaster, graduated from the Saint John Vocational School in 1975 where he studied art, for which he always had a passion. Al and Lynn married in August 1976 and he worked for Willett Foods for over 20 years, and as a grounds keeper at Westfield Golf and Country Club for the last 15 Years. Al is survived by his loving wife Linda (Martin) O’Brien, daughters Shawna O’Brien, her wife Anne, and Erika O’Brien, all of Saint John, brothers; John O’Brien Jr. of Ottawa, Michael O’Brien (Charlene) of Damascus, Doug O’Brien of Saint John, sisters; Sharon Johnson (Ralph), Linda Walker (Roy), Barb O’Brien (Eddie), all of Saint John, as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home with visitation on Tuesday evening June 9th, from 7:00-9:00 pm and Wednesday, June 10th, from 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 12:00 o’ clock on Thursday, June 11th 2015 at Our Lady of The Assumption Roman Catholic Church. Interment in Ocean View Cemetery following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to Bobby’s Hospice would be greatly appreciated. The family would like to invite everyone to an informal benefit in support of the family to be held at The Royal Canadian Legion, Branch # 69, 69 Wilson Street Saint John, at 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 13th, donations graciously accepted.
