Obituary of Douglas MacDonald

It is with great sadness the family announces the death of Douglas MacDonald, of Grand-Bay, Westfield. He passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the S.J.R.H after a lengthly illness. Douglas was born on September 26, 1944 in Saint John. He was the son of the late Earl Frederick and Marguerite (Ewart) MacDonald. Doug served in the Royal Canadian Navy for three years. Doug worked in Saint John his entire life. He retired from the Bank of Canada. He is survived by his brothers, Richard (Jane) MacDonald and John (Gail )MacDonald; sisters, Lynn (John) Hoyt and Judy Murphy; special grand-daughter, Rhiannon Cormier; and several nieces and nephews and his cat, Charlie. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his long time partner, Ann Cormier and sister, Carole Marr. Arrangements are entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John West (634-1701). By Doug’s request there will be no visitation or funeral service. Following cremation, a private burial will take place at a later date. Donations made to the Joshua House would be appreciated by the family.
