Obituary of Donald Parlee
It is with great sadness that the family of Donald Omar Parlee, announce his death on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on July 10, 1931 in Somerville, Mass. He grew up in the Saint John and Havelock/Harwood areas. He was the son of the late John Westley Parlee and Jennie (Demont) Parlee Church. He is survived by his daughters Jillian Jones (Edmund) Reid, Vanda (Paul) Burns, son, Terry Parlee (Mary Linton); daughter, Shelley MacLean (Mike Gillis), grandchildren; Caroline Purdy(Steve Childs), Shannon (Michael) Case, Hayley (Troy) Bohan, Michelle (Nicolas) Massicard, Victoria(Herve) Burns-Grosdemanche, Maggie Burns, David Parlee (Michelle Walker), Marissa Parlee, Ryan (Meaghan) MacLean, Andrew MacLean; nine great-grandchildren; one special Aunt Sadie McCully seven step-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Herbert Parlee; infant sister, Opal Parlee; granddaughter, Angela Jillian Parlee. He will be sadly missed by his loyal dog, Bruno. Don worked for the CNR as a checker before his retirement. He was a Jack of all trades. He loved working on cars and carpentry. In his later years had a very keen talent fixing bicycles and lawn mowers. Arrangements are entrusted to Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 27, 2012 from 7-9 pm and Friday, September 28, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. from Castle Funeral Home . Interment will take place in the Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. There will be a reception held at the Fallsview Family Reception Center following interment. Donations may be made in Donald’s memory to Kennebec Manor or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences may be placed at www.castlefh.com
