Obituary of Stanley Edison Carson

Carson-Stanley Edison (Ed), It is with deep sadness that the family announces the peaceful passing of Ed Carson on January  29, 2013 surrounded by his family.  Loving husband of 62 years to the late Helen (Muir) Carson (December 27, 2012).  Born on July 15, 1927 at Oak Point where he lived all his life.  He was the son of the late James and Margaret (Queen) Carson.  Ed worked as a trucker in his early years.  In the 1960’s, he bought his first John Deere tractor and started a contracting business which he worked at into his 80’s.  He loved to hunt and enjoyed time at the log cabin he built.  He was a member of St. Paul’s Anglican Church.  He is survived by three sons, Jack, of Oak Point, Paul (Jill), of Welsford and Howard (Rhonda), of Oak Point; two daughters, Elaine Reid, of Oak Point and Mary Lou (Glen) Cassidy, of Oak Point; seven grandchildren, Jenny Carson, Kara Carson, Sara (Rob) Richards, Evan and Matthew Cassidy, Lisa and Katie Carson; brothers, Roy of Saint John, Kenneth, of Ontario and Glendon, of Oak Point; several nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his brothers, Donald and Douglas; an infant son and son-in-law, Allen Reid.  Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701).  Visitation will take place on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 2 p.m. from St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Oak Point.  Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery.  Donations in Ed’s memory may be made to the St. Paul’s Anglican Cemetery, Extra Mural Nurses Foundation of Saint John, or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.  Online condolences may be placed at www.castlefh.com
