Mr. Ingersoll was my physics teacher so long ago. He was a very patient and funny man. He knew how to keep the attention of 30 teenaged students ( not an easy task) on a difficult subject and make it fun. Sorry for your loss but know he touched so many lives through his teaching, singing and his beautiful personality.

Dear Marti and family, My sincere condolences on the sudden loss of your dear father. He was my physics teacher at SJHS, you and I worked together, then to meet you both (along with your sweet mother) again years later at St Joe's, then again at the Chateau where my mother is also living, was a pleasure. Your father was a true gentleman. Regards and deepest sympathy, Pat (and Laurenna) Shea

Marti, Rob and family,We are sorry to hear of Art's passing. While I, Pete, was at Bethany Boble College, now Kingswood University, I served as athletic director. Art called me on more than one occasion to discuss his plans to purchase uniforms for the hockey team. We will always remember his quiet testimony and caring ways. It was indeed the manner in which he served and left his mark for The Master! May your cherished memories ease your sorrow. Pete & Janet Thomas

Dear Marti, Rob and Family:We were saddened to hear the word that Art had gone ahead of us for awhile. Special memories, especially of our time as pastor in Saint John Wesleyan, come back and become more meaningful at times llike this. One little adventure brings a smile to our face when we recall how Art, Wilfred Green and Stillman built sailboats to take to Beulah, and they really worked, and added to all the memories we all share from that special and hallowed spot. May God continue to strengthen you....it is hard to part with our final parent, especially when he is a good man like Art. He and Posie were a special couple. Our Love and Prayers, Stillman and Ethel

This brought back many good memories of high school for me. I will always remember his very dry sense of humor. He would always let you think he was letting you specifically in on one of his jokes. Physics was never an easy course but Art was certainly a gentleman. His family should be pleased he had an opportunity to relate to so many.

Please accept my heartfelt sympathy for your loss. As you reflect on good memories take comfort in God's promise to end all death and suffering. He also promises that we will be with our loved ones again here on earth enjoying the blessings of God's new Kingdom. Revelation 21:4 "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away..” John 11:25 " Jesus said to her: “I am the resurrection and the life. The one who exercises faith in me, even though he dies, will come to life"

This goes back a long time to SJHS high school hockey ,1965,66,67 . I fondly remember Coach Ingersoll as a fine soft spoken gentlemen and his words " Kennedy ,every shot is a potential goal " I have never forgotten . This expression I have used on many occasions in my coaching ,and in doing do so would picture Art's twinkle in his eye as he expressed it to me . Regards and condolences to the Ingersoll family , Perry Kennedy

I am very sorry to hear of Art's passing. Mr Ingersoll, which is what I always called him , was my high school physics teacher and although I barely got through the course he did inspire me with his corny jokes. He was a wonderful man. My deepest sympathies to you all.

It is rare that a student remembers a teacher fondly from almost 40 years ago but Mr. Ingersoll was one of those teachers. I was not one of his stellar physics students but I still remember his gentle demeanour and occasional moments of humour. I can also remember watching The Gospelaires on TV with my parents and thinking how cool it was to have a celebrity for a teacher! He will be missed by many other students, I'm sure. Condolences to his family on their loss.
