Dear Michael and Sandy, Anna and Colin, I was so very sorry to hear of Marlene's passing. I didn't know here well personally, but heard so much about her over the years, her energy, her great sense of fun, her devotion to all her family, her faith. And tho ' I am glad to think she does not suffer any more, I know she will be very much missed by you all. I know Barb and Betty will pass along my thoughts and good wishes to you. I would be there myself, but for my family commitments here. I will be thinking about you all, and have you in my prayers these days. Love, Wendy

To all the O'Brien Family it is with heartfelt that we heard of Marlene's passing. I had been told of her health issues but I was hoping for a better result. Marlene was such a joy to be around. I always knew when she was in the office because I heard that laugh long before I saw her. When I first went to work at O'Brien Electric Marlene would come in once a week to help with paperwork and answer the phones ( Maybe to catch up on the gossip, not sure). I've seen the phone ring,Marlene answer, and 15 minutes later the person would say goodbye and then have to call back because they had forgotten who they were calling for. One day she was on the phone for 10 minutes talking to someone and when she got off Shirley asked who was that and Marlene said "Oh they had the wrong number". She was always interested in our family and how everyone was doing. I will miss seeing her as will so many others but at least we know if there is a better place to go it will be even better upon her arrival. Our deepest condolences , Eric and Robin Blanchard

It is with such deep sorrow that I write this condolence. Mrs O'Brien or Leaner as we all so affectionately called her, was a tower of strength and stability. Her caring and affectionate way made all around feel so loved and comforted. She had an amazing ability to understand each person she spoke with and was a second mother to all my brothers and sisters. I will never forget her delicate approach to me as a shy timid boy growing up in greendale. Remembering how she took me to the pool to teach me to swim as i was so afraid of water. I recall her reassuring manner and how she made me feel at ease. The summer visits to Chapel Grove are forever etched in my memory. Whenever in her presence, people always felt good and happy. She is one of the true treasures of humanity and has left so many people feeling so much better about themselves and of life just because of the opportunity to know and spend time with her. My mother and all her Healy sons and daughters feel an extremely deep loss due to the very strong impact Leaner has had on all our lives. To our very close friends, neighbours and, in fact, surrogate bothers and sisters, Michael (the Duke)' Pat (Joe), Cathy and Colleen, i and my brothers and sisters, Anne, Cathy, Jim, Moira, Charlie (Chuck the duck), Mary and Eddie(Big Ed from up the hill) send our love, thoughts and heartfelt affection to all of you now and forever. We will always miss the love and affection of your wonderful mother...a treasure of humanity.
