Obituary of John Splane

John Malcolm Splane - It is with heavy hearts the family announces the passing of John Malcolm Splane which occurred on September 4th, 2015 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born April 24th, 1955, he was the son of the late John A. and Bessie D. ( MacVicar ) Splane.John graduated from the Saint John Vocational School in 1973 and the NBCC.John was an electrician with the I.B.E.W. Local 502 and travelled extensively for work throughout the USA and Canada. John was a devoted family man and loved spending time with his extended family. John is survived by his loving wife Sylvia (Peardon) Splane, son Steven Peardon (Shelley) of PEI, daughters Vickie Clarey (Jason) of PEI, Wendy Morrissey (Bill) of PEI, brothers Bruce Splane (Margot Cormier Splane) of Timmins, ON, David Splane (Mj Patterson) of Halifax, sister; Catherine Splane (Daryl Sleigh) of Halifax, grandchildren; Michael, Daniel, Christopher, Morgan, Chelsea, Blair, Brooke, and Emma, great grandchildren; Nathan, Claire and MacKenzie, sisters & brothers in-law; Irma, Gloria (Leon), Wayne (Veda), Bobby (Wilma), Susan (Glen) and their families, as well as nieces & nephews Sam, Leah, Max, James and Justine, uncles Robert Splane, Bruce MacVicar, Ralph Wilson and many loving cousins.In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by a daughter Jacqueline.Visitation will be held at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home on Tuesday evening, September 8th, from 6:00-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will take place from the Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, September 9th, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Lorneville Cemetery, followed by a reception for John’s friends & family in the Lornville Community Centre. Donations in John’s memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society, The Alzheimer’s Society or the Lorneville Cemetery. The family would like to thank Dr. Graham MacNeil and his receptionist Shelley, the nurses and staff of the Radiation Oncology and Medical Oncology Units of the Saint John Regional Hospital, as well as everyone at Bobby’s Hospice for the exceptional care John received.
