Obituary of Diane Lingley

Diane Lynn Lingley “The weakest step toward the top of the hill, toward sunrise, toward hope, is stronger than the fiercest storm” J.M. Marshall. Diane Lingley took many steps toward sunrise. On May 28th, 2014, with her family by her side, she peacefully took her final step. Diane loved to laugh and dance and give to others, bravely donating her bone marrow in 2000. Diane’s career spanned from Canadian General Electric to The Bank of Nova Scotia, to Fulton Surveys, where she retired from. “Nanny” was happiest when surrounded by her four grandchildren; Ryan, Avelyn, Julia and Autumn. Diane and Ric loved to travel with good friends Ken and Gail Gallant and her sister Gloria. She will be dearly missed. Diane Lingley (nee Tracy) was born December 26th, 1952 and was predeceased by her father Charles E. Tracy. Survived by her mother Lena Tracy (McCleary), her husband and dance partner for 39 years Richard Lingley, daughter Shawna (Colin) Cassidy, son Deric (Ginette) Lingley, sister Gloria (Bob) Hachey, brothers Eric (Louise) Tracy and Chris (Lenore) Tracy. Also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, on Monday, June 2nd, from 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 476 Lancaster Ave. on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2014 with Reverend Andrew Morse presiding. Interment in St. Josephs Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish, remembrances to Bobby’s Hospice or the Canadian Cancer Society. Many thanks to the staff at Bobby’s Hospice, nurses at Oncology, Dr. Burnell and Dr. Smith.
