Obituary of James "Jim" M. Reid
James “Jim” M. Reid passed away on Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing. Born on Sept 11, 1921. He was the son of the late John and Helen (Long ) Reid. Loving husband of the late Mary (Haigh) Reid.. Jim served overseas in World War 2. He was a member of the Luxor Shriners for many years. He worked for Canada Customs for over thirty years. Jim loved to travel and drive his car. He is survived by his sister, Elsie Hughes, of Saint John; two nieces, Ann (Alick) Taylor, Donna (John) Black, all of Quispamsis; one nephew, Melwood (Brenda) McKinnon, of Dartmouth, N.S.. Besides his wife, Mary, he was predeceased by his brothers, Ron and Jack; sisters, Katie McKinnon and Margaret Reid. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, “Fallsview Chapel”, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West, (634-1701). Visitation will take place on Friday, May 10, 2013 from 2-4 p.m and 7-9 p.m.. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. from St. George’s Anglican Church, Saint John West. Interment will take place in the Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
