Obituary of Nancy Eleanor (Thorne) Levine
Nancy Eleanor (Thorne) Levine of Saint John, NB passed away peacefully on January 27, 2017 at Bobby’s Hospice. Born on November 26, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Richard and Myrtle Elsie Thorne (Pike). In addition to her parents Nancy is predeceased by her husband James Michael Levine; sisters Shirley, Constance “Connie” and Norma, and brothers William “Bill”, Richard “Dick “ and David. Nancy is survived by and will be dearly missed by her 2 sons James Lavigne(Gayle) and Steven Levine( Jean) of Saint John; grandchildren Jared Lavigne(Natasha) of Saint John, Nicholas Lavigne(Lisa) of Montreal ; Jenifer Levine of Kitchener; Colin Levine(Erinor) of Saint John and great grandchild Ian Levine. Also survived by brothers Eugene (Barb) , Phillip, Leslie (Lorna) and sisters June Goss and Carol (Bill) Gray all of Saint John and many nieces and nephews. Nancy started her career at the age of 16 at Dominion Stores and continued in the grocery business until her retirement from head cashier. She enjoyed spending her time bowling, playing darts, gardening and playing card games with her brothers and sisters. Nancy loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchild . Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John (634-1701). Visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 1st , 2017 from 11:00am – 1:00pm. Funeral Service will be held from Castle Funeral Home on Wednesday February 1st 2017, at 1:00pm with Rev. Andrew Morse officiating. A reception will follow the service at the Fallsview Reception Center. Donations in Nancy’s memory can be made to Bobby’s Hospice.
