Obituary of Jean Bunn
Mrs. Jean Aylene Bunn passed away peacefully on December 13, 2014 at the Kennebec Manor. Born in Saint John on January 4, 1929 she was a daughter of the late, Stanley and Mabel (Webb) McKinnon. Jean was a seamstress for MRA, Socvils, Tip Top Tailors and Calps in addition to many years as a self-employed seamstress.She was highly recognized for her abilities in making wedding and prom dresses as well as clothing for disabled persons. Jean was an avid bowler, quilter and crocheter who enjoyed doing oil paintings of New Brunswick scenery. Having a great love for children, she and her husband became foster parents to 17 pre-school children as well as many older children during the time they lived in Nova Scotia. She is survived by her son, Ronald Bunn (Gloria) of Brown’s Flat; 3 brothers, John McKinnon of Sussex, George McKinnon (Mary) of Upham and Elton McKinnon of Hammondvale; 4 sisters, Vera Seeley of Hammondvale, Muriel Warren of Dartmouth NS, Romelda (Garfield) Brown of Liverpool NS and Glenna (Harry) Richardson of Saint John. Also survived by 2 grandchildren Rob Bunn (Jennie Cross) of Newmarket,On. and Valerie (Thomas) Gray of Dartmouth NS, as well as 2 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband Herbert Stanley Bunn; 3 brothers Edward, Ronald and Raymond McKinnon. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15, 2014 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm. A Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 16, 2014 at 11 am from Castle Funeral Home. Interment will follow the service at Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery.
