Obituary of T. Helen Carson
CARSON – It is with deep sadness that the family of T. Helen Carson announces her passing which occurred after a brief illness on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at her home in Oak Point surrounded by her family. She was the loving wife of Stanley Edison (Ed) Carson and on December 9, 2012 celebrated their 62nd anniversary. Helen was born July 25, 1928 in Grand Bay, N.B. to the late Howard and Louisa (Smith) Muir. Helen attended Saint John Vocational School and worked for Simpson Sears in Halifax and G.E. Barbour Company in Saint John in her earlier years and later worked along with her husband in their contracting business. Helen enjoyed gardening and crafts. She was a life member of the Greenwich ACW, she was also a member of the former St. John’s Anglican Church, in Grand Bay and St. Paul’s Anglican Church Oak Point. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by one brother Tom, sisters Olive, Gertrude, and Phyllis, son-in-law, Allen Reid, and an infant son. She is survived by three sons, Jack, of Oak Point, Paul (Jill), of Welsford, and Howard (Rhonda), of Oak Point, two daughters, Elaine Reid, of Oak Point, and Mary Lou, (Glen) Cassidy, of Oak Point, seven grandchildren, Jenny Carson, Kara and Sara Carson, Evan Cassidy, Matthew Cassidy, Lisa Carson, and Katie Carson, and several nieces and nephews. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B., with visiting on Saturday 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held on Monday December 31, 2012 at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Oak Pt. at 2 pm. Interment will take place in St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery. Donations to the Extra-Mural Nurses Foundation, St. Paul’s Anglican Church Cemetery Fund, or Charity of donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
