Obituary of Cecil Finley
Cecil Charles Finley was born on April 28th, 1932. He was employed by various companies as a laborer for the majority of his working years. Cecil was a big sports fan, and in his youth played both baseball and hockey. In his later years, he, alongside his best friend Vince, thoroughly enjoyed the horse races. Cecil was a fan of the Saint John Sea Dogs. He was a season ticket holder since the Sea Dogs were formed, and was pleased to see them win the memorial cup. Cecil was also overjoyed when his favorite NHL team, the Boston Bruins won the Stanley Cup. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Vera (Carlin) and sisters Shirley and Kathleen. He is survived by brother Ken sister in law Isabel, and several cousins. Cecil was an extremely kind and supportive uncle to: Valerie, Robert, Lori, Ryan, Aaron, Patricia, Shelby, Douglas, John, Jill, Peter, and Tracy. Cecil will be greatly missed. Resting at Castle “Fallsview” Funeral Home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John West (634-1701) with visiting on Friday, July 22, 2011 from 2-4, and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Saturday July 23, 2011 at 10 a.m. at Lancaster Baptist Church. The interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, and reception at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre. In Lieu of flowers donations in Cecil's name may be made to the charity of one's choice.
