The death of Patricia (Brennan) Smith, wife of the late Ronald Smith, occurred on September 26, 2011 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on April 10, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Leo and Josephine (Hatti) Griffin. She is survived by her sons John (Mary), Raymond (Susan), Donald (Anor), Paul and Ben (Anna); daughters Linda (Tom) Schultz, Bonnie (Tom) Agnew, Joanne (Doug) Sperling, Patti (Bob) Duncan, and Kelly Nice; step-children Tom (Hazel), Murray (Jeannette), Charlotte (Bernie) Joseph; sister Betty (Claude) Levesque and brother Michael (Meggy). Pat will also be remembered by her many grandchildren, great grandchildren, extended family and friends. Pat was predeceased by her infant son Michael, brother Donnie and grandson Allan. Pat "Billy" as she is known to her lifelong friends succumbed to an ailing heart after having fought alongside her husband Ron for a year while he waged his own personal battle with cancer. This long struggle left her weak and although determined to continue on the stress of living alone without her life partner became just too much. After six months of declining health she decided it was time to answer his call to come join him. Although she will be terribly missed by all her family we all know she is finally at peace.
