Obituary of Fidel Gauthier

Gauthier, Fidel Joseph Fidel was born in Minto, NB, 1943 he was the son of the late Benjamin and Melina (Gautreau) Gauthier. He died peacefully at home on Aug 6th. Fidel was predecessed by his loving wife of 47 years Sharon Lynda (Doucette) Gauthier. He loved working at Ritchies for the majority of his career. He was an avid sports fan and coached hockey and baseball for many years. Fidel was the life of any gathering and will be missed by all who knew him. He had a wonderful sense of humor and was always joking and laughing. Fidel is survived by his son, Gerald Gauthier, Saint John; daughters, Wanda Rettinger (Mark), Fredericton and Paula Gauthier, Strathmore, Alb. Older brother, Alyre Gauthier, Minto; sisters, Edith Doiron, Saint John, Jeannie Anderson (Jim), Saint John and Elaine Parent (Gerrard), Musquash; He is survived by his 5 Grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Anthony Rettinger, Fredericton, Kyle Ouellette, Strathmore, Alb., Jessica Rice, Strathmore, Alb., Max Gauthier, Saint John and Sophia Gauthier, Saint John and many nieces and nephews. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, "Fallsview Chapel", 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West (634-1701) visitation will take place on Thursday, August 09, 2012 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. There will be no funeral service, by Fidel's request. Private family interment will take place at a later date. Donations, in memory of Fidel, may be made to the NB Lung Association, Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of the donor's choice.
