Obituary of Gerald Clark Janes

It is with much sadness that the family of Gerald C. Janes of Dipper Harbour announce his passing on Saturday July 9, 2022 at the Carleton Kirk Lodge. Gerald was born on December 29, 1930, in Saint John, NB to the late Russell and Blanche (Clark) Janes.

Gerald will be dearly missed by his children; Dale, Laurie Ann, Alison and Graham (Beverly),  grandchildren; Aaron, Drew, Pierrette, Seyward, Russell, Hyacinth, Patricia, Cecile, Susan, Laura and John and several great grandchildren

Gerald was employed for 39 years with NBTel and a lifelong member of the Telephone Pioneers.  He enjoyed telling stories of growing up in Dipper Harbour and of his working years.  He enjoyed carpentry work and spent many happy hours in his shop, with a yarn or two for anyone that stopped by.  In his later years he discovered wood turning, producing lamps and bowls for his family.

A special thank you to the staff and nurses of the Carleton Kirk Lodge for their excellent care and kindness towards Dad.
