Just listened to the beautiful service for Doris...I laughed, smiled and cried at the same time.
I have wonderful memories of this special cousin.... she always thanked me for giving up my room for her in Kentville when she needed a place to stay.

A Short Message
From: Trevor & Sharen Carmichael - Barbados
We were fortunate to meet Doris through her sister Sandra. Although not for long period, we nevertheless immediately savoured her love for people, and her natural compassion for those in need.
Life is in a physical form finite,
Memory carries its own immortality.
In so many ways, Doris will be especially remembered.

As a newcomer, I am so glad that I met Dorris. She is the very energetic lady or the mom to all who needs help, whatever you need she always finds a way in order to help us and help all the newcomers. I will never forget that for a short period of time weve been together happily helping others and made me motivated to follow what she was doing. She was my best inspiration in serving the lord not only in church but serving the people. Dorris has a calling to serve and has a very big heart to help, nobody can stop her as long as she wants to help and I see myself in her that someday I will do the same what she did and what she have done. I cannot even forget that she always call me “My Dear Agnes and happily greeted me everytime we see each other, she may not be my relative nor my mom but she was the best MOM who knows what I need and always checking on me. All I can say for her is this verse I thank my God in all in remembrance of you Philippians 1:3
In behalf of the newcomers and filipinos our deepest condolences for Hobson Family.

My condolences to the entire family. I had the pleasure of getting to know Doris and Roy while attending Hillcrest Baptist and as I worked with the youth group where Colleen, Andrew and Sharon attended. I remember her being lots of fun and a great support. Always smiling and friendly. May she rest peacefully and joyfully in her Lord’s presence. ( and have a few laughs with Karl as well)

Roy, Colleen, Andrew, Sharon and family, please accept our profound condolences at this time. Doris was so kind, caring and compassionate. Although we moved from Ketepec Rd many years ago, we fondly recall how nice she and you all were to our young family as we started out. We just returned from abroad so unfortunately we can not attend the service.
May you take comfort knowing we share in your loss and strength from our prayers.
Sincerely,
Paul and Rena Smith.

Doris had a special concern for people in need. As a disciple of Jesus Christ, she was gifted in her ability to help others by connecting them with just the right sponsor, mentor or ministry. She was committed and forthright and worked for the betterment of those who came looking for help. Many were blessed by her kindness. Doris will be remembered as well for her good humor and hearty laugh and will be missed as a dear friend to many.
My sincere condolences to Roy, her children, her siblings and extended family.

Doris was a greeter at the front door when my husband Brian and I first walked through the door of Hillcrest Baptist Church in the summer of 2018. It was so obvious that this was a woman filled with the Love of Christ. Doris was the first person I emailed when we had to return to BC the following year for personal reasons regarding our late son, Ian. While living in Saint John, I watched her work the Caring Cupboard like a pro and wanted to help but the stairs and my back would not cooperate. So I got involved with her sending kids to camp campaign and now having returned to NB, I determined that this year I would offer my time to her exclusively knowing that she was not as well as she had once been. Deep sadness enveloped me when I learned that one of the "good, good ones" is no longer with us and there are no words to adequately express our condolences to her family. The Queen once said, "grief is the price you pay for love". May the knowledge of her place in Glory help remove some of the sting even as her children "rise up and call her blessed". We were saddened to read the obituary for Doris. We have memories of her caring for people, including newcomers to Canada. Doris would organise activities, food, drives, and participate in the clean up. She was a friend to, and advocate for, those who had trouble navigating the system. We will miss her smile and enthusiasm. We are grateful that Doris was a disciple of the Lord Jesus and we are grateful for her service to the Kingdom of God. We are also grateful for the words of the Lord Jesus, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me though they die yet shall they live." John 11:25 We are remembering you in prayer.

Sincere condolences to the Hobson and Ring family. Doris and the Ring family were our neighbours growing up on Pleasant Street. They were a wonderful caring family and they made everyone's children feel welcome in their home. Doris always reminded me of her mother who next to my own, was my favourite mother growing up! She had her mother's smile and demeanor and she was always kind to everyone.. Lynne (LeBlanc)

I am forever grateful to Doris, who, when I was aged 9-11, welcomed me into her home nearly every day. It was a difficult time for me and I think she saw that and knew that I needed some normalcy. I'm sure there were days when she would have liked time with just her children but, unless there was sickness in the home, I was always allowed to come in. To her family I offer my deepest sympathies. I regret that I will be out of town and unable to attend the viewing or funeral.
