My heart is broken as God welcomes another angel!! My dance partner and karaoke duet partner!! Karen always knew how to get a laugh out of a crowd with her Witt and quick come- backs.. Her memory never lacking, could remember peoples names and songs that no one else could.. She was one of my dads.. Ron Cleghorn’s biggest fans, singing along with every song he wrote.. Never missing a bingo game and always making a grand entrance at the dances…. You brought joy to everyone’s life and stole a huge place in my heart!! Thoughts and prayers to Ruthy, Bud and the rest of the family.. Karen is smiling as she always did!!!

My heart aches for all of the Palmer family. Karen had a beautiful life, all because of love you had for her. I met her the 1st year we trailered at Pleasant Lake. Cheryl and I took her to her 1st dance down at the lake. Had to talk Ingham into letting her go, promising that I would make sure she was safe and would bring her home. Sure enough, when I took her back to the trailer, Ingham was right out on the deck waiting. Didn't dare tell him that we had given her, her 1st drink, a wine cooler. OMG, she loved it That was just one of our many antics. She had such an amazing life with so many friends. She will be missed by all of us.

Ruth, Bud, David, Jamie and Robbie, and the family, I am beyond shocked to have learned of Karen's passing. She truly was an exceptional person. I have many memories of the things she and i would do together both at Pleasant Lake and in Saint John.I can so vividly remember her first adult drink and having to tell her to slow down. Her bingo fetish, her little arms going out to the side and hands pointing upward when she would win. Her putting her fear aside to go swimming with me, going to the Seadog games. So smart and not forgetting a person's birthday or anniversary and making sure she sent or gave a card.
Karen you truly will be missed by many, myself included. When you called me to let me know you were going to the nursing home and was a bit scared but as it turned out you loved it there. I was so proud of you when you succeeded in the many new things you tried and never gave up until you did get it. Rest in Peace Sweet Girl, I will always remember you and love you. RIP

Dear Ruthie, boys and families,
We are deeply saddened to learn of Karen's passing. Our families were intertwined as neighbours for over 50 years and multiple generations. Karen was kind, generous, thoughtful and always put up without our shenanigans.
Youth bowling and cut throat rummoli games are definite favourite images in our minds.
