Obituary of Celia Patricia Janes
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Celia Patricia “Pat” (Thompson) Janes announce her passing on Monday, March 21, 2022 at the Carleton Kirk Lodge. Pat was born on January 29, 1932, in Saint John, NB to the late Russell and Blanche (McDowell) Thompson.
Pat will be dearly missed by her husband Gerald of 66 years, children; Dale Janes, Laurie Ann Janes, Alison Janes and Graham Janes (Beverly), brother Eldon Thompson (Virginia), grandchildren; Aaron, Drew, Pierrette, Seyward, Russell, Hyacinth, Patricia, Cecile, Susan, Laura and John, several great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents Pat is predeceased by her siblings; Elmer Thompson, Marie Fulton, Inez Dunfield, Maurice Thompson, and Winston Thompson.
Family was extremely important to Pat, there was nothing she loved more than getting the whole family together for Sunday Dinners and cooking for them. She enjoyed gardening for many years and had the most beautiful flower beds. Pat was a lifelong member of the Women’s Institute and the Baptist Women’s Missionary Society of Canada.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. A Graveside Service will be held in May at Maces Bay Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Pat’s memory can be made to Diabetes Canada, Alzheimer’s Society of NB, or a charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.ca
