Obituary of Sandra Dee Given
It is with broken hearts the family of Sandra (Sandy) Given, wish to announce her passing on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John on May 20th 1944, Sandra was a daughter of the late William and Thyrza (Moffatt) Given.
Throughout her life, Sandy enjoyed spending summer days at the beach, especially Mispec. She loved to watch figure skating and Jay’s games on T.V., she loved her jewellery and Red Door perfume and was always so happy when the family got together for family dinner’s, it gave her the chance to get dressed up in her newest outfit. Her little four legged companion, Sparky, brought her so much joy and comfort over the past couple of years and her grandson’s Ben and Sam were her pride and joy.
Sandra is survived by her two daughters, Heather (Scott) Purcell, of Saint John, Melissa (Tracy Galbraith) Fawcett, of Saint John, one brother Ricky (Heather) Given of Kingston Peninsula, one sister Betty Jane (Lloyd) Smith, of Saint John and two grandsons Ben Purcell and Sam Purcell, of Saint John.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents, William and Thyrza, two sisters Margo Given and Joanne Roberts, two brothers Michael Given and William Given.
Castle funeral home 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John (634 1701) have been entrusted with the arrangements. There will be no visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment will be held in the spring of 2022. Donations to the SPCA or Romero House Soup Kitchen would be appreciated by the family. Online condolences can be made at www. Castlefh.ca.
The family would like to thank the caring and compassionate staff of the Palliative Care Unit at the SJRH, especially her nurse, Josh who went above and beyond with love and kindness.
