I had the distinct pleasure of working with Phyllis back in the 80's as a young library page at the West Side Library in Saint John. She made the work delightful, always smiling and transparently showing her gentle and good spirit while managing poor befuddled me with a gentle touch and an easy sense of humor. She and the other ladies there were wonderful people and I have very fond memories of my time spent at that place thanks to them.
I believe she would have quietly and gently touched a great many other lives in a similar and helpful way and without asking anything in return. The world could use a lot more people like her.
My condolences to her family and friends on her passing.

To the family Of Phyllis (Cameron) Bernard : I first encountered Phyllis at the West Branch Library and other elite group of women who treated me like family. And everybody knew how she loved Christmas as we would get a count down from January to December saying " it's only this many months until Christmas . My last encounter with Phyllis was 4 years ago at our monthly breakfast and we caught up with one another lives . You touched so many people lives Phyllis including mine as she as said follow your dreams as I told her I wanted to work in the library. Never got to happen but she took an in
our West Branch Library Stamp Club and got kick out of when Mr. Cosgrove came over and left us a note saying hope someday you find the North Eastern Inverted Stamp. . Never happened to any of us and if did we wouldn't be here today as this stamp was considered rare and they only made 100 of them before they realized it was inverted . Your were a good friend and your gonna be missed by many. Rest Easy my Friend. Jannette Jarvis

We were so sad to hear of Phyllis passing. She was such a good friend to my parents Eric and Edna and she so easily became a part of our family. We always loved seeing her every time she joined us for dinners at Mom and Dads home on Hayes Avenue. We all have such good memories of her laughter and genuine interest in all our lives. She was the kind of person you loved to see and be around. I always felt she was more than a friend to us kids, she was like a grandmother to us. She will be dearly missed by all of us, especially Mom and Dad.

To all Phyllis’s family, I was shocked to hear of Phyllis’s death so soon after the death of Thelma. I remember them both with great fondness. They were the girls that I looked up to when I was growing up in Hampstead. They were both always so kind to me and full of fun. My condolences are extended to the family. Unfortunately because I will be away on Monday, I will not be able to attend the visitation or Phyllis’s funeral. I would very much like to be there. Sincerely, Margaret (Dunn) Graham

My family has known Phyllis for many years. We first met her at the Dominion Store but she became a special person to us when she worked at the West Branch of the library. She was especially kind to my father in his later years by saving books for him to read that she knew he would like. She was always interested in our family and what they were doing. It was so nice to bump into her after she retired and have a visit. We send our sincerest sympathy to her family. Julie Cameron Kemp

I was shocked and saddened to hear that Phyllis had passed away as I had very recently spoken to her (a great conversation) after Thelma's passing. As she was a close childhood and lifelong friend of my mother, Alberta (Green) Johnson, also of Hampstead, I so enjoyed my many visits and joyful chats with Phyllis. She was a real gem and will be very fondly remembered by all who know her.
