Aunt Connie was one of my very favorites. ❤️ During my first two years in Education, her kindergarten class was my learning space. Because her family lived with my Nan, so we saw her extra, sitting in the kitchen, with a coke and some treats, giving us the updates of who last stopped in. She was my dad’s youngest sister, the baby, number 16 of 16. She gets to join her husband, parents, and seven siblings who passed before her, and as excited as they are to embrace her again, it is really hard to watch our Burns family shrink on this side. Thinking of you Aimee and Danny, with much love. - Sarah

My heart aches for all of the Burns/Janes family. She was a beautiful person inside and out. I first met her at Pleasant Lake many years ago. I was so surprised that she came from such a large, large family. I have had connection with the Burns side of her family for many years. In fact, my two youngest grandchildren are her great, great Nephews. Her journey has been very hard over the last couple of years, and now, she is at peace. Please, take comfort in knowing that all of you are in my prayers during this difficult time.

Connie was an amazing aunt, and with a heart of gold she taught me so many things in 14 years from what are even and odd numbers to how to appreciate things when you still have them. She loved her family very very much, and showed us that every time we saw her. With every time she walked into a room she wore a smiling face and brought joy in her pocket. I can’t recall a time in this life when connie wasn’t there for me. She was truly an angel among us. We miss you Aunt Connie <3 - your gorgeous girl

To all Connie’s family and friends;
I was so saddened to read of her passing. Mrs Hooper taught Kindergarten to both my children, now grown. Nicole; an accountant , is married with her first starting K at Islandview in Sept. David is a doctor finishing his residency in Halifax.
Mrs Hooper’s was an excellent first teacher who led the path in education for our children. I always admired her calmness with all these little ones. We will treasure her memory.

Amie, Danny and families. I would like to pass on my sincere condolences on the passing of your mom. I have so many great memories when we camped together at Pleasant Lake, Like when she was going for her masters, me sitting in your trailer with her asking her questions for some exam she was studying for and not having a clue if she was right or not. But loved thinking i was helper her. Take care.

So sorry for you Aimee, Danny that you’ve lost a wonderful mother and for you Art that you’ve lost your wife. Connie was such a lovely person, so kind and genuine. She was my mentor when I decided to teach kindergarten and I loved working with her. The children loved her, as did the parents, and her colleagues held her in high regard. No matter what life handed her, she kept a positive attitude. She’s gone too early.
