Obituary of Wanda Audrey Gallant
Wanda Audrey Gallant passed away peacefully on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the Church of St. John St. Stephen Nursing home. Wanda was born in Douglasfield, NB on December 6, 1931 to the late William Hector and Gladys Martha (Jarvis) Astles.
Wanda worked for several years at Sears and K-Mart, before she became a stay-at-home mother. She enjoyed crocheting.
Wanda is survived by her sons; Daniel R. Gallant and his wife Elizabeth of Halifax, NS, Stephen N. Gallant and his wife Connie, and Wayne D. Gallant and his wife Dorothy both of Saint John, NB., sister Katherine Mae and her husband James of Nova Scotia, 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Wanda is predeceased by her parents, stepmother Florence Astles, husband Robert Nelson Gallant, daughter Darlene Griffin and son William ‘Billy’ Gallant.
Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Monday, June 14, 2021 from 11:00AM-1:00PM. A Funeral Service will follow in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel at 1:30PM. Interment will be held at a later date in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Donations in Wanda’s memory can be made to Hope for Dementia or the charity of the donor’s choice.
In keeping with Public Health Guidelines only a limited number of people are allowed entry for the visitation and funeral service. Masks must be always worn, and social distancing maintained. The service will be livestreamed for those unable to attend.
