Obituary of Eileen Elizabeth Ward

Eileen Elizbeth Ward passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at St. John St. Stephen Nursing Home with family by her side. Eileen was born on July 8, 1932, in Saint John, NB to the late Simon and Bridget Guitare.

Eileen was a cook at Hilton Saint John for many years. She enjoyed knitting, doing puzzles, and playing cards and bingo.

Eileen is survived by her daughter in-law Rose McAuley, sister Cecilia O’Reilly, sister in law Alice Guitare, grandchildren; Tracy McAuley (Shane), Debbie McAuley (Kevin), Katherine Wilson (Peter) and Tommy McAuley (Marilyn), great-grandchildren; Brianna, Mikey, Matthew, Kaitlyn, Addyson, Marcus, Lukas, and Jeremey, 4 great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Eileen is predeceased by her parents, husband Joseph Ward, son Thomas McAuley, sisters; Doreen ‘Patsy’, Melvina ‘Vinnie’ and Theresa and brothers; Douglas ‘Blondie’, Walter ‘Sonny’, Leonard, and Joe.

Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held at Ocean View Memorial Gardens on Friday, June 4, 2021, at 2:00 PM.
