Obituary of William S. Hutton

Hutton, William (Bill) S. Peacefully at the SJRH, August 4th, 2017… Born in Saint John, June 29, 1929, Beloved husband of Eleanor (Stewart). Bill resided most of this life in Saint John West. Third son of Robert S. and Janet (Miller) Hutton. Bill had been a watchmaker to trade and worked with Bradley’s on King Street for a number of years. He also worked with Barrett’s on Germain Street and later was in business with Larry Deverne on Princess Street. Bill then worked with T.S. Simms where he travelled the world working with the machinery division; he then moved on in the company to become the Atlantic Regional Sales Manager for paint applicators. Bill worked 33years with T.S. Simms before his retirement. In his earlier years he had been a member of the Riverside Golf & Country Club, Westfield Golf & Country Club and Carleton Curling Club. In his later years he became a member of Welsford Golf Club. Bill was a member of Westfield United Church. Bill had been a member of Saint John & Western District Crime Stoppers where he served as president for 2 years; he also served on the board of NB Crime Stoppers where he was in charge of promotions. Bill is survived by his wife Eleanor (Stewart), son W. James (Joelle) Quispamsis, daughter M. Jeanne Burns (Norman) Willow Gove, 2 step-daughters Arlene Flynn (Brian) Arizona, and Lesley DiVincenzo Burlington Ont. 7 grandchildren, sisters-in-law Suzanne Hutton and Audrey Hutton, several treasured nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his first wife M. Celene, his parents and 2 brothers Robert M. Hutton and George M. Hutton. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). At Bill’s request there will be no visitation. After cremation a committal service will be held at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donation to the SJRH Foundation Cardiovascular Health and Wellness Program or Westfield United Church would be appreciated or a charity of the donor’s choice.
