Obituary of Shirley Anne Vautour
It is with heavy hearts the family of Shirley Anne (O’Brien) Vautour, wife of John Vautour announce her passing on May, 29 2018 at Bobby’s Hospice. She was born on October 10th, 1935 to the late Joseph and Emily (Gallant) O’Brien in Saint John. Shirley spent her career working at O’Brien Electric as a secretary. Shirley especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, they were her everything. She was also the ultimate curling fan. She will be dearly missed by her husband, son Joe Vautour (Wendy), daughters; Elizabeth McQueen (George) and Suzanne Daigle (Jim), brothers; George O’Brien (Eleanor) and Doug O’Brien (Ester), sisters; Dianne Bosence (Bruce) and Joan Ervin (Tom), 10 grandchildren; Brad, Matt, Adam, Rick (Janelle), Andrew, Justin (Danielle), Ashley, Bethanne, Lindsay and Emily, 6 great grandchildren; Zach, Brooklyn, Reid, Grace, Theo and Charles, several nieces and nephews. Shirley is predeceased by her parents, brothers Gerry O’Brien, Alfred O’Brien and Everette O’Brien, sisters Margie Roche and Barbara Jean O’Brien. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Friday, June 1st from 2PM-8PM at Castle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, June 2nd, 2018 at 12Noon at Our Lady of Assumption Church. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery. A reception will follow in Castle “Fallsview” Reception Center. Donations to Bobby’s Hospice, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
