Obituary of Mary Agnes Patterson

The family of Mary Agnes (Caden) Patterson, announce her passing on April 30th, 2019 at the Carleton Kirk Nursing Home, Saint John, NB. Born in Toronto, Ontario December 29, 1928, she was the daughter of the late Michael Joseph & Agnes (Thompson) Caden. Mary loved to learn. She achieved; a BA in Modern Languages & Literature from the University of Toronto, an MA from the School of Graduate Studies from U of T, and an MSW from Wilfred Laurier University. She spent her early career days as a social worker in the Kitchener-Waterloo Family Services Bureau. In 1972 Mary and her family moved to Fredericton, NB where she worked as a social worker for the Victoria Public Hospital, Court of Queen’s Bench Family Division. Along with her parents, Mary was pre-deceased by her husband, John Frederick Patterson and son, Michael Patterson. Mary is survived by son, George Patterson, daughter-in-law; Christine Lee Chisholm, grand-children; Sean (Candace) and Ryan (Morgan) Patterson, great grand-children; Nicholas, Nathan, Maddyx, Maycie. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. As per the family’s wishes, a private service will be held.
