Janet was a fixture in our family, first visiting my grandparents’ place with her friend and my Aunt Jean Kimball, through visits over the years to the A-Frame which she and her sister so cherished, and more recently through my correspondence, calls and occasional visits with her. Her wry humour and disdain for pretentiousness made her one of my favourite people. Be at peace, old pal.

I would like to add my condolences to both the Floyd and Fowler families and share a fond memory I have of this wonderful lady. When I was a young child, Floyds used to take their cream to Bloomfield station to ship on the train which would arrive somewhere around or before supper time. We lived at the end of the Bloomfield Station Road and Janet would stop and pick me up and take me with her. She would let me sit on her lap and drive the truck (or so I thought at the time). She would also pick up any students who were coming from Sussex High School on the train and give them a ride back home. The kindness and love shown by this lovely woman has remained in my mind all these years and although many years have passed since then, I recognized her photo in the paper immediately. My sister, Helen, and Lois were good friends and nursed together in the General Hospital.

Janet was a good customer of mine for about twenty three years. I just loved her wonderful sense of humour and her friendliness always. I will miss, but never forget her. She was one very unique person who carried her age extremely well. Deepest condolences and prayers to her family as you have lost one very special lady, but I'm sure you have many happy memories of her. R.I.P. Janet.

We are so sorry to hear about Janet's passing. We enjoyed Janet so much- whether it was travelling, gardening or just talking with her in her Saint John home or on Gorham's Bluff. Great memories. Jeannette, Dwight and Sandra Greene.

As a young person, I remember Janet and her sister Lois coming to the Baptist church in Bloomfield from time to time. They were always so friendly to everyone. I don't think I ever saw her ski down the hill in Hampton on the property of Fen Hoyt but I always wondered why no one ever ended up on the road now called the Pickwauket Road. May the family have great memories to bring comfort and knowing she is now with Jesus in heaven.

My condolences to Janet's extended family!! Janet was my neighbour and it wasn't long after I moved next door (in 2009) that we became fast friends. She loved her gardens and made sure they were meticulous. Although she could no longer tend to them herself, she had a trusted gardener that came faithfully to keep them up and make any changes that Janet wanted done. She always spoke fondly of her late husband, sister Lois and her nephew in Ontario. I could sit with her for hours and loved doing so! I remember one snow storm my husband and I built a huge snowman and dressed it up Hawaiian style, well, she LOVED it!!! She made sure to call me and tell me it was great to have young people on the street again!! I have missed her since she moved to the Chateau and we did have a few long chats since then but I was saddened to see she had passed. I know though, that though absent from the body, she is present with her Lord!! Rest in peace sweet Janet!!!

My mother, Ethel Landers being Bob’s sister, welcomed Janet to the Landers family. Therefore we visited Aunt Janet throughout the year on many occasions. One visit each year especially memorable was Halloween. Our kids knew that we would visit to share their experience. Aunt Janet would give a great big smile and pretend that she did not know them. So much fun! I am sorry that we are away and can not share all the time we had with Aunt Janet! When I visited on Last Friday I did not realize that would be the last visit to mark in her calendar! May she Rest In Peace and God bless her for the wonderful times she spent with our Uncle Bob! Janet was like a grandmother to me along with her sister Lois. My brother and I would regularly end up in their A-frame cottage on the Kingston Peninsula learning a new game every summer. It has been a great pleasure to have Janet in my life - family, friend and ‘girlfriend’... accordingly to the Reversing Falls restaurant.
