Obituary of Paul D. Butler

It’s with sadness that the family of Paul D. Butler announces his passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, March 6th 2019. Paul was born on July 12, 1932 to the late Charles E. and Annie (Power) Butler in Eastport Maine. Paul spent over 30years working for CPR Railway, where he eventually retired from after holding many positions with the company; such as Brakeman, Yardman, Yard Foreman and Conductor. He loved his family, Maces Bay, and sports. He loved taking yearly visits to Billerica MA during Christmas to be with his little sister Frances, his nephews Wayne and William and their families. He enjoyed spending time at Maces Bay in a cottage by the Bay of Fundy and he played semi-pro baseball and hockey prior to his career at CPR. Paul is survived by his nephews Wayne (Melissa) Logan and William (Sharon) Logan, their children Nathan Logan, Katelyn Logan, Eric Logan , Kimberly Logan of Billerica, MA. , sister-in-law Mary Butler, nephew Joseph Butler and niece Betty Lynn Butler of Saint John, NB. He is predeceased by his parents, brothers; Peter Butler, William “Buddy” Butler, sisters; Theresa “Tessie” (Butler) Furlong of Georgia and Frances “Bridget” (Butler) Logan of Massachusetts, nephew Michael Butler and brothers-in law William G Logan and Raymond Furlong. Resting at Castle Fallsview Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 8, from 4:00PM-8:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Holy Spirit Parish (St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church) 541 Milford Rd, Saint John, NB E2M 4R5 on Saturday, March 9th at 11:00AM. Interment will take place at a later date in Holy Cross Cemetery. Donations can be made to the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com.
