Obituary of Doris May Taylor

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Doris May Taylor announce her passing on Friday, March 2, 2018 at the Saint John Regional Hospital with her family by her side. Doris was the daughter of the late George M. and Catherine J. (Emery) Taylor. Born in South Bay, NB on April 8th, 1941. Doris was a special sister to all her family and loved sincerely by her nieces and nephews. She graduated from Saint John Vocational School in June of 1959, and went to work as a legal secretary for the law firm of Purnell and Brien until her retirement. An active member of Saint Columbia Presbyterian Church, holding various positions within the church. She is survived by her sisters; Lida K. Kierstead, Evangeline (Eva) Lee, Myrtelle (Albert) Speight, Judith (Kenneth) Galbraith and her special twin brother, Donald J. Taylor. She also leaves to mourn, her sister in law, Carole Taylor; nieces and nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Doris was pre-deceased by her sisters; Mary Taylor, Ellen (Duckie) Ryder, Evelline Scott, brothers; George E. Taylor, Alban Taylor and an infant brother. Doris’ family would like to thank all those at the Saint John Regional Hospital that were so kind to her and her family during her illness. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634-1701). Visitation will be held Monday, March 5, 2018, 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral service will be held from the Castle Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, March 6th 2018 at 1 p.m., with a private family interment at Cedar Hill Ext. Cemetery to follow.
