Obituary of James William Reid
It’s with great sadness that the family of James “Billy” William Reid announces his unexpected passing on April 17, 2020 at his residence. Billy was born on January 31, 1962 to the late Ernest W. and Nellie B. (Maxwell) Reid in Saint John, NB. Billy worked for several years at Saint John Recycling before retiring due to health issues. Billy was very sociable; he enjoyed getting involved in his buildings activities and events (Tannery Court Co Op Building), and spending time at the Lower West Tim Hortons with friends. He was an avid baseball and hockey fan- he loved Gretzky and the Oilers before becoming a Leafs fan. Billy will be missed by his sisters; Betty Beale and her husband Paul and Elaine Bishop and her husband Steve, nieces; Marlee (AJ), Ashley (Brandon) and Emily, nephew; Nick, and his dear friends; Murray Campbell, Danny Thompson and Christa Miller. Billy is predeceased by his parents. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. A Private Family Graveside Service will be held in Cedar Hill Extension Cemetery. Donations in Billy’s memory can be made to the Diabetes Canada or the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
