Obituary of Shirley Ann Joyce Irvine
It is with broken hearts, the family of Shirley Ann Joyce Irvine would like to announce her passing on Monday November 9, 2020 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. She was born on May 18, 1935 in Salmon Beach, Glouchester County to the late Claude R. and Mary Veda Pearl (Breckenridge) Miller. Shirley worked for Belltone Hearing, fitting hearing aids for many years. She loved to travel and spend time with her family and friends. Shirley is survived by two sons, Terry (Barbara) Miller, of Saint John, David Irvin (Katie Melvin), of Grandbay – Westfield, one daughter, Sana (Mark) Nearing, of Nerepis, two brothers, Archbishop Claude (Sharon) Miller Jr., of Fredericton, Hanson (Hazel) Miller, of Salmon Beach, nine grandchildren, Andrew and Angela Miller, Chelsea LaSalle Miller, Sydney Irvin, Olivia Irvin, step granddaughter, Ella Melvin, Amanda Nearing, Emily Nearing, and Nathan Nearing, two great grandchildren, Tucker and Ivy Lee, several nieces and nephews. Shirley was predeceased by her beloved husband George Irvine (2017), one brother, Sydney Miller, one sister in infancy, Claudia Mildred. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (6341701). A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2020 from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, November 13, 2020 at 11:00am at Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. A reception will be held at Castle Funeral Home following the service. Interment will take place in Greenwood cemetery. Donations to the N.B. Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.
