Obituary of Bernard Frederick McHarg
The family of Bernard McHarg wishes to announce his passing on Wednesday, June 5th, 2019 at the Turnbull Nursing Home. He was born on February 11th, 1930. Bernard was a proud 3rd Degree Charter and Honorary Life Member of Council #8094, and also a proud 4th Degree Member of Assembly #616, Knights of Columbus. He worked for Thornes Hardware for many years. However, his true passion was photography. He also loved travel and The Royal Family. He was a well known, Saint John wedding photographer who was always in high demand. Bernard was so proud of his photos of The Queen, Lady Di and The Royal Family. He always shared those special photos with us stating “You can’t charge family.” He usually followed with, “I’ve only got one shot left.” Rest in Peace Bernard. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Josephine (Babineau) McHarg, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Mary (Higgins) McHarg, his brother William, niece Susan and nephew Graham as well as nephews Paul McNulty and William Butler. Josephine (Jo) and family would like to thank the management and staff of Turnbull Nursing Home for the kind and loving care they provided to Bernard. He is resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB, E2M 2L3 (506-634-1701). Visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00pm and 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, June 12th.
