Obituary of Carol Beatrice Murphy
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Carol Beatrice (Vail) (Barton) Murphy announce her sudden passing on April 8th, 2019 at the Saint John Regional Hospital surrounded by her loved ones. Carol was born on September 7th 1943, in Millstream, NB to the late Helen Chase. Carol was a caring, honest and hard-working person, she was a foster parent to 175 children over the years and loved every moment. Once she stopped fostering children she began working with the elderly. Carol was a life-long West Sider. Carol will be dearly missed by her husband Arthur Murphy, sons; Gary Barton (Sherry) and Scott Barton, daughters; Marina Dow (Pat), Lorraine Parsons (Jim), Pamela Barton, Andrea Cormier (Mike), Roxanne Beck (Michael), Alicia Barton (Chris), stepdaughters; Sherri Raven (Dan) and Dana Murphy (David), step son Sean Murphy, several grandchildren and great grandchildren, one nephew and her much loved dog Benji. She was predeceased by her mother, husband Lloyd Edwin Barton, son Lloyd Edward Barton, grandsons; Jason Dow and Lloyd Ashely Barton, sister in-law Judy Murphy and brother in-law Peter Murphy. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Saint John Regional Hospital Staff of 5CN, especially Allie, Jessica and Maddy as well as Dr. Robert Poirier for taking such great care of our mother and our whole family during this very difficult time. Arrangements are under the care of Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3, 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 14, 2019 from 4:00PM-8:00PM. A Memorial Service will take place on Monday, April 15th at 11:00AM in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel. A Reception will follow the service in Castle “Fallsview” Reception Centre. Interment will take place at a later date. Donations in memory of Carol can be made to Bobby’s Hospice or the charity of the donor’s choice. Online condolences can be made at www.castlefh.com.
