Obituary of Margaret Rose Robichaud

Margaret Rose (Cormier) Robichaud in her 81st year, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Friday, September 6th 2019 at home surrounded by her family. Margaret was married to her true love, Eloi Robichaud for 63 great years. She was born June 30, 1938 in Saint John, NB to the late Alban and Gertrude (Thibodeau) Cormier. Margaret lived her life enjoying everything with her true love, her husband Eloi. For many years before she became a stay at home Mom, Margaret worked at Centracare as a nurse. She loved to attend Legion dances with the family, she was also a life-long member the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #2. In her later years, she became an avid bowler (especially with Eloi) and dart player, the City District and Provincial Darts were her passion. She also loved camping with her grandson, cross boarder shopping with the Bus Tour Groups, knitting and crochet work (which always had to be perfect), gardening at the cottage, and she enjoyed making jams and jellies. She was truly a special woman and will be missed greatly by all that knew her. Margaret is survived by her husband Eloi of Saint John, children; Daniel Robichaud (Joey) of Woodstock, Anthony (Cheryl) Robichaud of Saint John and Darlene Robichaud (Robert) of Blacks Harbour, brother George (Margaret) Thibodeau of Saint John, NB, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren and twenty-one nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by his sisters; Elizabeth (Al) Poirier, Pauline (Alonzo) Hachey, Jenny (Pat) Roche, Leona (Jack) Gallant and Yvonne (Charles) Theriault, brothers; Simon Thibodeau, Henry Thibodeau, Leo (Josie) Thibodeau and Arthur Thibodeau. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Ave. Saint John, N.B. (634 1701). Visitation will take place on Sunday, September 8th from 6:00PM-8:00PM and Monday, September 9th from 2:00PM – 4:00PM and 6:00PM- 8:00PM. A Ladies Auxiliary Royal Canadian Legion Branch #69 Tribute Service will take place Monday, September 9th at 7:00PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held from Our Lady of Assumption on Tuesday, September 10th at 12:00 Noon. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, with a reception at the Assumption Centre afterwards. Donations in Margaret’s memory can be made to Our Lady of Assumption Building Fund, the Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
