Obituary of Paul Cortlant Craig
It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our husband and father Paul Cortlant Craig, which occurred peacefully Thursday August 17 2017 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Paul was born in Saint John on January 17th 1947 he was a son of the late Frank and Ida (Leighton) Craig. Paul was a retired Petroleum inspector, in his younger years he was with the Canadian Armed Forces in the Navy. He was a former member of the Royal Canadian Legion #69 branch, and a former long-time westsider, he enjoyed the family camp and outdoors, but especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports, ATV-ing with them, and Shuffling in Florida. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years Margaret (Rourke) Craig, his son Johnpaul (Barbara) Craig of Saint John, one daughter Terri (Bob) Desjardins of Saint John, four grandchildren Bailey, and Ryan Craig, and Benjamin, and Tyler Desjardins, two sisters Ada (Douglas) Hamilton, and their daughter Ashley Hamilton of Ontario, and Linda (Bernie) Goguen of NB, five brothers Arthur (Maude) VanDine of North Hampton NB, Gerry (Gwen) VanDine of Lake George NB, Carl (Kim) VanDine of Bulls Creek NB, Robert VanDine of Fredericton, and Charles (Kathy) VanDine of Eel River Lake NB, and several nieces and nephews. Paul was predeceased by his parents Frank and Ida, and one sister Jean. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John (634-1701) with visitation on Saturday August the 19th from 6:00-8:00 PM and on Sunday from 1:00-6:00 PM. A funeral service will be held on Monday August the 21st at 2:00 PM from Castle Fallsview Chapel. Interment will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. A reception will be held at Castle Fallsview Reception Center. In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. Their kindness and care was truly appreciated.
