Obituary of Valerie Joan Carmody

It is with great sadness that the family of Valerie Joan (Green) Carmody, wife of the late Terrance Carmody, announces her passing on Sunday, December 15th, 2019 at home. Valerie was born on October 1, 1941 in Saint John, NB to the late John and Loretta (McGrath) Green. Valerie was an RNA for many years in Ontario before retiring in 2004 and moving back home to Saint John. She was active in karate for several years in Ontario under a master 4th degree black belt. Valerie also loved dancing, watching old movies (30’s and 40’s) and just enjoyed doing her own thing- she was happy and content staying home and watching a good show. Valerie is survived by her brothers; David (Joan) Green, Lorne (Marjorie) Green, Kevin (Ruth) Green, sisters; Maureen Carters, Nancy (Al) Plante, Glenda Lussier, Doleris Ross, Lorraine Green, Joyce (Bob) White and Norma Hardy, sister in law Anne Green, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, husband Terrance, brothers; Peter, Jack and Bobby, and sisters; Shirley and Katherine. Resting at Castle Funeral Home, 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John, NB E2M 2L3 506-634-1701. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18th from 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM. A Memorial Service will follow in Castle “Fallsview” Chapel at 1:30 PM. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, with a reception afterwards at Castle “Fallsview” Reception Centre.
