I served with George in BRU although I was relatively new and George was a Chief, he always took the time to ensure we were doing what we were supposed to be and encouraged us or had a little ditty to spin. George also was my City Transit Bus driver while I attended Vocational School and his Mrs. worked in the school office. Years later George now retired and I became a Chief, I always made sure to say hello whenever I seen them out and about the West side. George was always a pleasure to speak with and will be missed. Please take comfort knowing we share in your loss and strength from our prayers. Sincerely, Paul D Smith CPO (Ret)

I had the absolute privilege of serving on two Canadian war ships with George. H.M.C.S. St.Laurent and H.M.C.S. Cayuga. George was a well respected sailor and person and has left many fond memories with me and all shipmates who served with him. To the family, you can be extremely proud of George and his service to his country. Rest in peace George.
